Anyone who belongs to Christ is a new person.
The past is forgotten, and everything is new.
God has done it all! He sent Christ to
make peace between himself and us, and he has
given us the work of making peace between
himself and others.
(2 Corinthians 5:17-18, Contemporary English
Version)
Dear Lord,
Come along side these Pilgrims, whom we bless
in Your name. Where there is fear, make
Yourself known with Your peace; where there is
dispair, make Yourself known with Your hope;
where there is sorrow, make yourself known with
Your comfort; where there is discouragement,
make Yourself known with Your promises; where
there is uncertainty and indecision, make
Yourself known with Your wisdom; where there is
pain and brokenness, make Yourself known with
Your healing touch; where there is guilt, make
Yourself known with your grace and mercy; where
there is joy, make Yourself known in Your
praise; where there is complacency, make
Yourself known with Your joy; where there is
bitterness, make Yourself known with Your love.
As You walk with them, talk with them and
break bread with these wonderful pilgrims, may
they be overshadowed and overwhelmed with Your
gracious love.
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your
faithful and kindle in them the fire of your
love. Send forth your Spirit and they
shall be created. And you shall renew the
face of the earth. O God, who by the light
of the Holy Spirit did instruct the hearts of
the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit
we may be truly wise and ever enjoy Your
consolations. Through Christ our Lord.
Amen
